Jasper Lecon
Musical career

Jasper Lecon is a versatile German conductor recognized for his dynamic musical interpretations and creative approaches. Jasper has established a significant presence in the music scene and currently holds a scholarship from the Conductors Forum of the German Music Council. His talent has been recognized with international awards, including second prize and the orchestra's prize at the 2nd Kussevitzky International Conducting Competition and the City of Matera Prize at the 5th Nino Rota Conducting Competition.

Driven by a curiosity for new artistic expressions, Jasper founded the Junges Kollektiv MusikTheater. Under his musical direction, the ensemble has performed opera productions such as W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro, G. Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and B. Britten's The Rape of Lucretia and was mentioned in the retrospective of the German theatre prize DER FAUST.

Jasper's conducting journey includes collaborations with renowned orchestras such as the Orquestra Sinfonica do Porto, Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, Ensemble Modern, Staatskapelle Weimar, Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, and Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim. He has been mentored by renowned conductors such as Rüdiger Bohn, Douglas Bostock, Vassilis Christopoulos, Peter Eötvös and Ekhart Wycik.

In addition to his professional career, Jasper is strongly committed to supporting the next generation of musicians. He has served as a lecturer conducting the orchestra at the University of Education Heidelberg and led the Strohgäu Symphony Orchestra Schwieberdingen. Since 2023, he has been the conductor of the orchestra at the University of Pforzheim.

Jasper studied music education, mathematics, and orchestral conducting in Karlsruhe and Mannheim and is currently continuing his studies at the renowned Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
